When we were told by the Building Inspector in our town that we needed to hire a structural engineer before we could begin converting our barn into living space, I thought it was just another unnecessary waste of money. We hired Cameron Brochu for the remodel of our 1870s brick row house in Boston, which included digging and underpinning the existing foundation to increase the basement height by 2 feet, as well as opening floors and reinforcing some of the building's structure. Cam was always quick to respond to our questions and tackled structural issues efficiently as they arose before and during construction. We truly appreciated his expertise and dedication to preserving the historical character of the building, suggesting the use of reclaimed wood for exposed beams to maintain its charm. We highly recommend him!
